New fishing kayaker in central CT. I was hoping that someone could provide some nice beginning lakes, ponds, etc.. to start out in. Looking for info on easy launch areas and parking. Also, what equipment do you feel is essential to get started, outside from the obvious. Thanks!

Some spots local to the Middletown area I'd recommend are: Dooley Pond in Middletown Crystal Lake in Middletown Black Pond in Meriden All have traditional boat launches and parking areas

Depends on where you are, up near me in northern CT: Black Pond, Woodstock Bigelow Pond, Union Halls Pond, Eastford All smaller lakes with very little boat traffic. As far as equipment nothing special needed. PFD and fishing gear. Good luck and have fun.
