Wednesday afternoon I checked out the Pequonnock at Beardsley Park to see what the water level was like and if there were any trout cruising around. Arrived at the ballfields just before 1pm and saw 1 other guy fishing. He said the action was slow while he was throwing corn yellow Power Bait.
3 lures I tried throwing included tennessee shad HJ-6, gold XR-6, and gold J-5. Lost 1 with the XR-6.
Later I decided to try throwing Mike's Salmon Eggs, which resulted in a 10" brookie.
Last stop was the Trumbull Rd bridge. Lost a nice trout up there with the HJ-6 and had a nice rainbow take an egg.
Headed up to Twin Brooks Park just before 3pm.
