Kayak Fish Finder

Hi All, I am going to be adding a depth finder to my yak for the long weekend coming up. I have pretty much decided on the depth finder (Humminbird® PiranhaMax™ 175 Sonar) and how I am going to mount the transducer, but I am looking for advice on how all of you power your devices? I was looking at 12v lead acid batteries but was hoping i could find other solutions to reduce the weight in the Yak.
