Local Pond

Decided to hit a local spot, Paper Goods Pond, from my kayak tonight in hopes of having some fast paced top water frog action. The night started off slow with a few blow ups but no hook sets. This was my first time using the white Zoom Horny Toad in a while so it took me some time before I got used to waiting a few seconds before setting the hook. After a half hour or so the action started to pick up as I was getting explosions more consistently. I ended up hooking an landing 3 largemouth in the 12-14 inch range and missing a bunch of other smaller ones that were just grabbing the legs of the frog. At around 9:00 I made a cast under an over lying tree. I saw a big explosion, waited a second and set the hook. I immediately knew it wasn't another one of those cookie cutters as I hadn't felt a fish pull this hard out of this pond in a while. I didn't get a measurement and my scale wasn't working but I am 5'10" as a reference. I know it isn't a monster but it was nice to see a fish this size come out of this particular pond.
