Subject:
Weppawaug River near Orange/Derby
Message:
I was in the Farmington area for something and brought along my rod and some left over worms I had from a Father's Day excursion. I was going to fish the Naugatuck River a bit but there were a lot of people and I wanted to get hauling towards home, so I took a few casts into the Weppawaug. Most of my worms were dried up and on the borderline of not being usable, so I only had a few casts worth of bait. Water was cool with moderate flow, but overall levels were comparatively low from earlier in the spring. I caught a dink bluegill and a small brown bullhead. Someone once told me they got a fair amount of bullhead in that area which is kind of weird. They must all flush down the current from the resevoir when water levels are high.
