Naugatuck River 08/01
Message:
While my son attempted to get his driver's license at the DMV in Waterbury, I fished the Naugatuck River across the street, just below the Thomaston line. The sun was blazing overhead and the air temperature was over 80 degrees. Although the river there is shallow, and the water is brown and murky, the scenery ain't bad:

I fished for about an hour, from 10:40 am to 11:40 am. I threw only wacky-rigged five inch Senkos in Green Pumpkin/Red Flake, Black/Large Blue Flake and Green Pumpkin Chartreuse Laminate. All three patterns worked fine. I ended up landing six little smallmouth bass, only one of which might have barely been a 12-inch keeper:

As fun as it is catching a lot of little smallies, I'd rather fish somewhere I have a shot at hooking into a much bigger fish.
Oh, any my son [b:3a97677c5f][i:3a97677c5f]finally[/i:3a97677c5f][/b:3a97677c5f] got his license! :D

Are you sure that first one's not a "RED BREAST?"
