I caught this catfish while drop-shotting the lower Mattabesset River, yesterday, just before the mouth of the river:

It's a white catfish, right? It has the same forked tail as a channel catfish, but has no spots on its body. And, no, I don't want to count the number of rays on its anal fin.

Nope, Pete, the bite was slow. DirtyDawg10 (aka Derek) and I fished the outgoing tide to dead low on the lower part of the river, below the Coginchaug River. Spinnerbaits got nothing. I caught a couple of short smallmouth bass and a decent largemouth bass with a wacky-rigged Black with Large Blue Flake five inch Senko, but all of the fish picked it up very gently off of the bottom. The drop shot Gulp! Minnow also got me a rock bass.
