Hey everyone I have never been to bolton lake before and going to take a trip out there and just got a kayak and want to know what part of the lake is good for largies upper,middle or lower also what baits work the best in spring time? thanks.

Regarding "what baits work the best in spring time", I still haven't figured that out. The answer seems to be "depends". And I don't mean that you have to wear an adult diaper. :lol: I've seen pretty much everything work at one time, lake or river, or another; fast, slow, big and small. From a kayak, in which you tend to fish areas more slowly and thoroughly, slower-action lures like wacky-rigged Senkos have been working well for me, lately. Very light jigs (i.e., 1/16 ounce or 1/32 ounce) have also been good, because they don't dig down into the still mostly dead weed cover when they hit the bottom.
I guess I'm suggesting that you try everything and anything, until you figure out what's working. :wink: But, as anyone who knows me would tell you, I'd try a wacky-rigged Senko, first. :D Here's some kayaking fishing porn from the last week:
