Question on motor regulations at CT lakes and ponds
Message:
I just got a used bass boat and I see that many of the lakes and ponds have regulations that you can only use engines up to a certain horsepower or it restricts the use of internal combustion engines altogether. My question is, does this mean that [u:93883b6356]simply having[/u:93883b6356] an internal combustion or one over the horsepower limit is prohibited OR does it mean you can have it on the boat but can't use it. The reason is that I have a 50hp engine as well as a trolling motor. If I keep the outboard off and trimmed up, can I go into a pond such as Mudge in Sharon or West Hill Pond in Barkhamsted and just use the trolling motor? Thanks in advance for any advice.

If I'm not mistaken you have to lift the motor from the water "and" remove the prop.

Generally it is up to the EnCon officer that you encounter on what they want to see. I have talked to officers who say they want the prop removed and ive talked to some who say if possible want the gas tank not in the boat it just depends on who you encounter.
