Mattabassett River

Wow, the Mattabassett is insanely low! We put in 3 hours before low tide and this is what the launch looked like...

I only managed to land one bass, though I did see a few other yak fisherman pull a few Bass and a Pike. The spots I typically fish were waterless mud holes and I had no luck around the little structure I was able to access. Needless to say, I won't be back on the Mattabassett till we get some rain!

Dan1 (aka Dan) and I fished the Mattabesset River, yesterday, from the mouth to just below the mouth of the Coginchaug River. Yeap, the water level at high tide looked like the water level at a normal low tide. Although we caught a couple of smallmouth bass at the mouth, we had a crappie day. After we struck out with the largemouth bass, bowfin and northern pike, we hit The Crappie Tree and pulled out a bunch. I even got a bonus bluegill out of it! :D
