Fall Run has Started

Thursday afternoon I arrive at the Fayerweather jetty around 4:30, to find gulls and blues very active. A surfcaster from Seaside told me the blues have been active down that way.
As I cast for a while, I give it a break until a school of blues gets closer. That's when first cast out I set the hook but lost it.
As the evening kept going by and tide got lower, the blues were no longer active busting the peanut bunker near shore. I only had 2 other hits.
I didn't have waders on and saw a number of surfcasters in the water when tide got lower.
Plan for Friday is have my chest waders on as I cast with my 8 footer and 15 lb braid.
Blues I saw landed and the one I lost looked to be 4 to 8 pounds. It looked like there was a good chance of getting into a 10 or 11 pound gator.
