Blackberry River

Ok, so I will start this of by asking, is this stream a waste of time? I spent my 4th of July driving up there to scope out the stream. The stream itself really is not all that bad (I only was aware of the one access from the Berkley Furnace Falls). The part of the stream was not horrible, I actually spotted one brown trout swimming around. Has anyone fished other spots of this stream? Perhaps further down near the Housatonic River? Any deeper pools that the trout would be hiding at in July? BTW, it is about an hour and half drive from where I live to get here. Just wondering if anyone really had decent luck here. I looked at the opening day fishing report this year and it said, "fair at best" fishing at the Blackberry River.
