TROLLING MOTOR?????????????

I bought a 14ft Quest canoe from Dick's at the beginning of April. I want to put a trolling motor on it. Does anyone have any suggestions on the size I should get? It saids its rated for 2.5 hp but this is my first canoe and I'm just learning I don't want to go over board.

i have a 34 lb thrust transom mount motorguide that pushed my 15" coleman just fine i also have an older 45 lb 12/24 bow mount motor guide id be willing to part with cheap!!! :D pm me if your interested

june-bug, any 40 lb thrust trolling motor will push that canoe no problem. Just remember if you do put a trolling motor on you will have to register the canoe with the DMV now that it is considered "motorized". No big deal just $15.00 dollars a year for the regs and the stickers that you put on the bow end.
