NIANTIC BAY, TWO TREES AND THAMES
Message:
We hit two trees channel at 7:00 sunday morning. Nothing to show for it but 5 skates. We went to a spot at the mouth of the Thames where we had good success last year. Nothing there. Back over to Niantic Bay around 2:00 with no luck. Just as te weatherman said the wind changed to the southwest with a vengence so we threw in the fish towel. We were using squid and minnows. We also noticed a lack of large boats. Even at 7:00 am the parking lot was almost empty at Niantic. The gas prices must be affecting a great number of fisherman. It was still good to get out after a long winter. the boat ran well. We'll get 'em next week weather permitting.
