NE Bass Challenge - CT Outdoors
Message:
Battled through the storms and heat and fished in the second 2-day tournament at Candlewood this past weekend, put on by CT Outdoors, and the turnout was very low. There were only 25 boats and some dropped out after the first day. To my surprise, smallmouth (big ones) were still up on beds, but we didn't see too many largemouth. Marked some good fish in practice, but spent too much time chasing that phantom ghost as many had moved off by the time the first day of the tourney came. Caught a ton of fish on day two, but they were all the same size pound and just over range...but the majority were spitting up shad of all sizes.
Weights were a little lower than expected, although some teams had managed in the low/mid twenty pound range for an 8-fish limit. Ended up with a 4th place finish.
