Suggestions for Bass Fishing Spots

I'd like to join my brother who lives in Connecticut for a weekend of smallmouth bass fishing. Problem is he doesn't know the fishing holes and I live in NYC. Any suggestions for places to fish which rent boats? Are there any recommended fishing lodges you can suggest? Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome Mike. I'm sure there are other people who can chime in on smallie lake fishing up here, but the Housatonic river all up and down has some great smallies, including candlewood. Not sure if there's anywhere to rent boats down there though.

I'm not sure about rental boats on Candlewood, but there is always Quabbin Res. in Mass. They rent boats at 3 different locations, I recommend gate 8 or gate 43 launches for smallmouth bass. The boats come with 5 or 6 HP motors and the price is right too.
