Empty lake bass club CT river Haddam,7/27

Man the river was super high and muddy and we had to move from hartford to haddam and lost an hour of fishing time,not to mention that i sat in the car with my nephews until 740 to wait out the thunderstorms before we fished.
Conditions where tough with very high/muddy water and fast current flows along with super amounts of floating debris and water temps in the low 70's with changinging weather conditions. but we managed 4 fish for 7.2 with a lunker smallie of 2.9 caught by my nephew!This was their first tournament and they did great.We managed a second place.
First place was five fish/9.12
second 4 fish/7.2 (johnny skeeter and nephews)
Third-3? fish/5.12
Glad everone made it back safe. Most of the guys who started at seven said the bite was great the first half hour or so,too bad we had to miss it,but safety comes first with the kids!

I think thats awesome johnny! The boys are great. Someday when we're old farts, they'll be fishing a tournament against us! Old lions vs. young lions :) (Rocky V movie) Thats great! Just make sure the next thing you teach them is to never mess with the bird of fire.....THE PHOENIX (inside joke)
And safety should always be first! Kids young and old!
