CT River 11/21

Slimecoat and I went to the river on Friday, around 2pm. It was COLD (27deg) and WINDY (20kts). Headed to the "secret spot," not far from the launch... :)
Upon arriving to the spot, there was another boat fishing the area. They were using shiners, and we did not observe them catch a thing... After we stayed our distance, using Slimecoat's crappie trolling motor that had to be manually turned for direction (try doing that in the wind and current), the other boat left. We moved into position, and after 5 minutes or so, this beauty ~3lb smallie was taken by Pointingdog. Nice fight! Slimecoat soon switched baits to what Pointingdog was using, and hooked up with another nice smallie, but his limp wristed action prevailed, and the fish came off at the boat...
