F#@#! Report - Hotchkiss Pond, 5-22
Message:
Just got back from a brief stint at the Hotchkiss pond. Caught 1 tiny largemouth and hooked into another. The second and last fish of the night was very very large. Close to, if not certainly a Personal Best for me. I'm just estimating here for the following reason:
Running the Yum Houdini Shad again, still haven't seen any blowups so wasn't up for much surface action tonight. Threw into a shallow section and did a little pause twitch action. Suddenly the bait stopped. Thought I had gotten a bunch of weeds again, then it pulled on me. It was on. Set the hook again just to make sure. I wrestle the fish through the weeds and get it to the rock next to me. I can't quite reach the water from where I am, so I have to lift the fish maybe 4 inches out of the water. As I bend over. *PING* Berkeley Vanish Strikes again. Fish drops to the water and sits there, allowing me to fume while viewing the almost-trophy. Again, worst part is, I left a lure in a very good fish's mouth. I feel awful doing that.
I know you guys told me to get rid of the line, I'll admit it, I was kinda lazy. But it's coming off TONIGHT Now.
I am SO MAD. Can't really guess at the weight as I'm a very bad judge, but this was one biggie fish.

Thats to bad. Knot to rub salt in the wound, but you do know the fish look smaller in the water right?
Did i hear you say you were standing on a ROCK?
If it was me !!! I would have been in the water rather than risk loosing the fish of a life time.
