Got back from NYC yesterday at 3:30 so a buddy and I hit up Silver. Water Temp: 43 - 44 degress Water Clarity: Clear Baits: Roadrunners (Black 1/8 oz.) 1/4 oz Rocky Ledge Vibra Bug Spinnerbaits (Black) Strike King Redeye Shad (Gold 1/2 oz) 3/8 oz Rocky Ledge Stealth Jig (pumpkin moss) UJ Big Daddy Trailer Lucky Craft Staysee (ghost minnow) Line: THIS WAS IMPORTANT~~ I had 8lb and 14lb Floro on my rods. My buddy didnt. Until he started throwing Floro, I caught 8 to nothing..... Most of the fish were in the 10 - 14 foot range straight out from the ramp on the railroad side of the lake. Nothing real big. 2.5 was the biggest Surprisingly the fish were somewhat aggressive. The most strikes came on the Vibra Bug and Redeye shad. We worked the V-bug nice and slow with just enough movement to feel the blade thumping and the Redeye Shad was worked just over the grass with a Yo-Yo retrive ripping it off the grass. Our biggest fish came from the 14 foot range on the jig. There was nothing shallow. We tried the north end of the lake up around the bushes/ dead leaves and saw nothing (i was surprised) All in all it was a good day. Caught around a dozen bass and about 20 Crappie. If your going to hit this place, I would bring the same types of baits and stay to the right saide of the lake. (the shore with the train tracks) Fish up and down the break. Keep the boat in 10 - 15 feet and work the edge slowly and throughly. Many times we caught a fish on the second pass. We also caught NOTHING on the jerkbait........ go figure good luck if you decide to head out! - Justin T.
