last trip up to quonnipaug till after opening day 3/28/09

ok so planned to go early around 6 or 7 but instead pushed it off to around 830-9 to let things warm up and let the showers get out of the way;
fished for a couple hours throwing assorted things but once again no such luck with the bass; figured the clouds would help bring them in to the shallows more with how clear the water has been but the sun popped out and i dont know if that changed things or what;
anyways got bored and had an ultralight with me so i decided to troll for a minute while i switched spots; usually i can get a pickerel atleast on a rooster tail but instead i had this:

5lbs 4oz by the berkley scale; took some time to get in the boat;
was the only fish all day;
i did see some bass however at the launch shallows and tried for them but they just looked at the baits and nothing more; :cry:
oh well;
