Should I get a licence
Message:
Hey guys, I never fished in freshwater before. Is it any good as its in saltwater (in the sound). Should I get a license? Will I be able to catch anything good in ponds, rivers? If so what and how should I do

first off cartman, welcome to the site... Personally, I prefer freshwater fishing. Many will tell you otherwise, but do what you feel is more fun. If you are going to try to fish freshwater, definitely purchase a license. Its really not worth the risk of getting caught without one and the money used to purchase the license goes for a good cause. If you fish freshwater, you can fish for a variety of things worth catching... I have seen Just4Fun pull 6lb + fish outta some CT lake/ponds. Most of us on the site fish mainly for bass whether it be smallmouth or largemouth. People also target species like pike, pickerel, trout, crappie, or catfish. You should be able to find a variety of places to fish around the Greenwich area in the DEA ponds and lakes guide. Gl to you and have fun!
