CT. River Depth Charts?!
Message:
I just looked online for like an hour for and accurate/detailed depth chart for the CT. River. Anyone have info?? I wanna know how deep it gets in Salmon River Cove because I was thinking of strapping on the waders and fishing as much of it as I can, but I don't want to drown doing so...

There is a deep channel that runs through salmon river cove and it transitions from shallow to deep very quickly so be very careful!! Also the entire area is pretty flooded right now so I really wouldn't advise straying too far from shore!
There is really only one depth chart of the CT river and it's surrounding areas that is any good. It is a waterproof folding map with a red & yellow front page and it is sold in most of the tackle shops in the area. It's depth markings are for normal water levels and at low tide though. We are no where near those levels now,..and we won't be for a while!

The map I have came from Northern Bass Supply in NH. I'm not sure how detailed it gets as far as depth, once you come off the main river. Get yourself a $20 Lakes and Ponds of Connecticut book from the DEP website. I believe they show detailed depths up in some of the larger creeks and rivers like Salmon and Hamburg etc.
