Highland 4/19

Went to Highland to get the kids out on the water for the first time this year. Water temp hovered around 50 degrees. I set them both up on spinnerbaits and I caught a 2.2 pounder on one of them as I was showing them how to target cover and bump it. Brushed it off a piece of isolated timber in about 6 FOW and just as I was saying "the bites usually happen right after you bump the target," BLAM. 3rd cast of the season (in CT anyway). White spinnerbait with a Rick Clunn trailer. Just a touch faster than a slow-roll. Spent the rest of the day just manning the trolling motor for the kids. They didn't catch anything, but they had a great time anyway!
