Fatality, welcome to the site. If you live in Bristol the first place I would go and try is Bantam Lake, one of the best bass and pike lakes in CT. Probably about 30-40 minute drive from Bristol. Can get crazy now that Memorial Day weekend is upon us and the parking lot is limited so get there early on the weekends. Good luck! :D Jim

Do you have a boat? Or do you mainly fish from shore? Honestly, I do not know Bristol at all, so I can't be of any help there. The best advice I can give you, is download google earth, and scope around to see what is close to you. There's plenty of spots around no matter where you live, you just gotta find them. Try the CT River, there's so much variety, you never know what you might get. Plus for a beginner, it's a good start to learning. Versatility is key. You must figure out how tides affect fish's feeding patterns, weather, what lures to use for certain situations. Once you get that down, you're pretty much golden! It may be frustrating at first, but stick with it, and you'll do fine! Welcome aboard
