Personal Best - Old Lyme, 6/13/09

Went down to the shore Saturday morning for my usual weekend routine. Lauched the kayak around 10am to mess around a bit before my friends arrived. Paddled out a bit far, got a call from my friend and was about to turn back when... WHAM! After about 10 min of this thing dragging my kayak in circles, I was able to land it. I was going to try and keep it until I found it impossible to row back with the fish... I was actually drifting further out while trying. Before tossing it back, I tried snapping some pics which proved to be quite difficult. Here's the best attempt... [img:f67410bfd9]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5875[/img:f67410bfd9] The fish measured 40 inches even. I'd guess the weight to be 30-35 lbs. My personal best so far :) After that I fished the remainer of the day from shore with my friend. I got 3 more schoolies, and 3 porgies. He got a huge blackfish, 3 schoolies, and 4-5 porgies. Was a great day!
