Avoid braid from slipping on spool

I have never encountered this until the other day. How is this fixed? I've heard spooling up a few yards of mono and tie it to the braid. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have never been able to stop braid from slipping other then a leather or neopreme thumb gaurd.

back the reel with mono and you will be good good to go.
