candlewood 9/4-7

had the opportunity to fish candlewood lake this weekend and made the most of it fishing it 4 mornings in a row. i launched my boat at lattins cove on friday and docked my boat way up on the northeastern arm of the lake for the 4 days before make the trek back to lattins cove this afternoon. ride on the way up was great since there were not too many boats on the lake. on the way back was a different story. lots of boats and lots of big wakes that tossed my 17' aluminum bass boat around. friday 7:30 - 11am: on the way from lattins cove to my destination, i mostly fished various docks (mostly marinas) and some weedlines mostly with a jig. picked up 5 smb and 3 lmb. most of them were around 2 lbs. saturday 5:30 - 8:30am: fished with my nephew the island across from gerard's marina. picked up 4 smb in the weeds on a texas rigged salamander with 2 going 2.5 lbs. largest was a 3.7 lb smb picked up by my nephew on a texas rigged worm. sunday 5:30 - 8:30am: fished with my nephew and brother the same island (picked up 2 smb on a texas rigged salamander with the largest going 2.8 lbs) and then picked up 2 lmb (3.5 and 3 lb'er) on the weedline with a jig on the way back. monday 5:30 - 8:00am: fished with my brother the same island with no success and then picked up 2 smb going 2+ lbs off the weedline on another island. a couple of people mentioned grass. i looked for it but only found a little at the lattins cove launch. are there really grass beds out there? i didn't get a chance to go to the other branch. saw some other fisherman fishing off the shoreline... guess they were fishing some other structure that i was unfamiliar with. all in all, this was a very successful trip on a great lake! will need to fish it more when i get the chance!

Nice report! Glad to see you found some fish and got to share the fishing with others. There is a ton of structure to fish offshore.....rock walls, bridges, roadbeds, humps, etc. Keep at it!

Congrats, that's not bad at all for the short trips you took and not knowing the lake really well.
