Anyone heard if these ponds are frozen over yet looking to go out tommorow. I know its been cold enough.

Hi!
Those are big waters!
Up here in the NW corner most of the big waters are STILL very questionable!
As of Today 1/05/10
Colebrook Res. is open water from the boat ramp to the dam.
Hogback has open leads and wet spots.
Highland 2nd bay and 3rd bay still have open leads and wet spots. (1st bay seems to be Ok!)
It's the WIND that keeps these water unsafe or questionable not the temperature. NEED Calm almost windless days to get ice to form.
If you plan to try any of these waters;
1.) Go with a buddy :!:
2.) Have rope, neck spikes, and a whistle :!:
3.) Spud your way out on the ice every 2 or 3 feet :!:
4.) Be mindful that underwater springs can be anywhere :!:
5.) Always good to ask other icefishermen, that fish these waters regularly, what info they can give you.
