Winter fishing -> Try CHUMMING!
Message:
Hi All! This is a re-post on chumming I made from last season :!: Hi Guys! OK! Where this is legal to do :!: Here's some tricks (I learned from some Old-Timers) to attract fish during various periods of ice fishing. 1. Drop some chum (chopped-up dead minnows or old bait) down the ice hole. 2. I break up small and cook up some Ramen noodles (No seasoning), then scent it with, shrimp or smelt or anise or garlic fishing scent. The noodles will sink slowly dispersing the scent. Plus the noodles look like waxies/mousies/spikes as they sink and fish can digest the noodles. Doesn't plug up their innards like corn can. 3. In an old onion bag, put a rock in it -> then some chum -> then a couple of alkaseltzer tablets -> more chum -> then send it down a hole, on a line, (the depth you think or know the fish are at) about 10 ft. from the hole your fishing. The chum scent will attract the fish and so will the alkaseltzer bubbles as they rise. Have fun :!: SeaDog1
