The Red Hat Performs Again!

Hit Mansfield Hollow saturday turned up this one 30 inch around 9 pound pike (personal best) and 5 perch that were all very good sized, one was about 15 inches and fat as could be. Everything released healthy to swim and be caught another day. Fished by the island near the 89 bridge. We were in about 9 feet of water. Ice was on average 13 inches thick. Thank god for power augers. Pike was caught on a 4 1/2 inch live shiner about a foot off the bottom. Just to show how smart pike are...I got this fish to the hole 4 times before i got him through...each time he made about a 15 to 20 foot run. When I pulled him onto the ice his mouth and face were just caked with mud ( the amount of like two man sized handfulls) Im assuming he ran himself into the ground tryin to rub the hook out of his mouth....smart fish! Theres still some mud on the corner of his mouth on his gill plate... [img:5fe04b6381]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=7037[/img:5fe04b6381][/img]
