Right now on my ugly-stik I have the junk #8 mono that came with the reel and I really want to upgrade. sounds to me this is your only set up so i would go with berkley trilene xl smooth casting monofilament 8 or 10 lb test hard to wrong with that. you dont need to spend big bucks on braids or flora lines
