Morey Pond - 4/4
Message:
I tried to get out for my first trip of the year in the morning, but after two false starts, both times forgetting the kayak paddle... I decided to hold off until later. I hit up Morey Pond starting around 5:45PM and getting off the water at 7:30PM. I lost a jerk bait to a tree early on and thought my luck from the morning was continuing. I focused on shallow water with a white fluke from that point and missed one. Glad I stuck with it and stayed in the shallows. While I only caught one fish, it was my PB, weighing in at a hair over 5 pounds. Not a bad start to the season - hope that carries through! Sweet fish, look at that belly full of eggs, or blue gill! It's nice to see that Morey Pond still has some nice fish in it. Pointing Dog and I cut our teeth fishing that place 20 years ago. At one time there were more pickeral there than anything else.
