POLL: Dropshot setups- spin vs baitcast
Message:
i've been tied up indoors catching up on school work and crap; missing all these nice weather days to go fishing. managed to get out to a local spot once or twice with no takers but otherwise been stuck at the computer. anyways im switching out a med action rod i have and i dont plan to sell this one  i know shimano makes a drop shot cast model along with their spin version as with some other companies however very rather have i seen people using a cast version unless someone is power drop shotting through weeds or deep water and even those situtations are half the time more likely to be seen on B.A.S.S. Elite series then around here. regardless my thoughts are a spin version CAN be more versitale especially come wind were as someone using a cast very could have problems. on the other hand wind is nothing to someone who knows what there doing and that is use to a baitcast reel. the other thought is it can be difficult if using light weights such as 3/16ths which i could agree on but there again lies how well the person using the setup can adjust it. either way whatever my question to anyone who chooses to give their two cents is what do you like more and why?

DJMON, I prefer a spin set up, thats me, I know people that do use a baitcaster for drop shotting, but with the lighter lines I personally like a spinning reel set up

I like casting..I have a 6'9 medium kistler helium with a daiwa alphas with 7# test. The reel is made for finese fishing. I cast 1/8th oz lure with it with no problems.
