April Cod and Haddock Trip 4/18
Message:
You know you had a great day of fishing when you wake up the next morning and your whole body is sore!! We went out of Hampton, NH on the Yellowbird and were hitting the Cod and Haddock pretty good. I personally boated about 18-20 fish of which I had 4 keeper haddock ranging from 29" to 21". I pulled in several cod none of which were keeper length and about 5-6 dogfish which were fun to catch. I caught a roughly 36" to 40" dogfish which put up a nice fight.
We were fishing in about 200' to 250' of water and the water temps were around the lower 40 deg range. It was a great day and I'll be doing it again at some point this year since I won the raffle for another free trip. I'm thinking of doing a pollock trip in August or Sept. Here's a few pics.

Great Job! Is that a private chartered boat, I was looking to go out this year as well, would you say that NH has better fishing than CT?

It is a private charter but you don't have to buy out the whole boat if that's what you are asking. It is $60 per person and $5 for rod rental on weekends.
As far as CT vs NH I would say it is two different types of fishing. It all depends on what type of fish you want to go after. If you are going after stripers or blues I wouldn't leave CT but if you want to fish deeper waters for Cod and Haddock go to NH.
