Hey CT, i got a tourny next weekend on silver lake but dont have time to prefish it, nor have i ever fished it before. ive heard its shallow and what not but i didnt know if you guys knew anything i didnt that would help me in it. I know that it will be prespawn/spawn depending on the weather. Lures, places, any tips i would greatly appreciate.

That place is REAL shallow... maybe 6 feet in the deepest spot. Im no Pro on that lake, but from launch, go straight out, along the track side, drive past the 2 "coves". On the far side of the second cove, there are some big rocks... start near there... and work your way to the end of the pond. Ive found that far stretch is where the good lilies are, and you may catch a few on creatures/lizards, or jiggin-piggin. I dont think its warm enough to be launchin frog baits yet... Not for nothin.... that 2nd cove is super shallow, but for some reason, Ive caught some good sized fish in there, way up in the bushes on spinnerbaits too. watch out for the swans. they are bitches in there. and this is the egg season.

Silver is a bit deeper than 6 feet, @ the deepest point its bout 18ft. BUT most of it is very shallow, esp the coves....there is a channel that cuts through it (hence the channel catfish being stocked there)..that is where it's deepest. Try slow working some soft plastics through the weeds...jerkbaits might still be effective too. Good luck!
