Mouth of CT River Trolling 4/24
Message:
Hello, this is my first fish report here...
Hit the CT River Saturday 4/24 for 2 hours with my brother. Air temp was mid 60s, don't know the water temp as no fishfinder yet. We started about 2 hrs after low tide trolled south of the railroad bridge for a while.
Used the standard red tubes with a little sandworm, one out each side of the boat, and picked up a few Stripers in the 18" to 29" range. The 2 biggest, 25" and 29" came within seconds of eachother. 1st time we've had 2 on the lines at the same time so it was good practice for the run soon to come. Most bass were on the downriver trolls which I hear work better then going up.
Pretty good day overall, everyone made it back home including the bass - even the one in the keeper range. Defintly good to release them for future years. We would have stayed longer but the wind picked up and the sun went away. So much for the forecast 5mph out of the north, more like a steady 15 out of the south but what can you do, still worth it...
