Hello all.
Message:
Hi my name is Rob. I live in the Hartford area. I have been fishing all my life, but over the last 10 years or so it has only been for trout. I have only been out couple of times each year for that matter. Recently I have been bitten bad by the fishing bug.
I missed Opening Day this year with a stomach illness and it nealry killed me not to go out for those trout..
So far this year, I have been down to the DEP docks twice for stripers and have only caught one 26 incher.
Most of my friends do not go fishing. I have tried to get them out there to no avail. I don't know if they are afraid of worms or the 4am time I would be knocking on their door to pick them up.... So I am looking to meet a few fishing pals. I am willing to meet up with other fisherman when I can (weekends mostly) to learn new fishing techniques, bait, tackle, and catch a few different species. As you can probably tell by now, I do not have a boat. So until I get one, I am guess I am a shore fisherman (Unless someone is short a person and would like a fishing partner to go with them on their boat).
I look forward to learning from all of you and looking at those great photos PlopPlop.
Thanks,
Rob

welcome to the board, you came to the right place by the sounds of what you're looking to gain from this place.
Many people will be happy to take you aboard there boats, just check out the fishing partners forum located on the forum index main page. People will frequently post when they are going out and if they have room. I have met a number of members this way and made some good relationships with them.

Thanks PD.
I have read a lot of the different posts on this site and many ,if not all of you, seem to be truley gifted fishermen. I look forward to be a contributing member of this forum and hope in time to be able to catch as many fish as some of you.
