I've been wondering about those hard fighters myself. There's some good porgie reports on Noreast.com, apparently they catching jumbos on the East end of Long Island, they will be closer soon.
I'll be looking for them next time out.

caught a few doubles of porgys today while black fishing they were all realy small and came in on sand worms around 25' deep
