pickeral 7/24

fished from 6:45 - 9am and picked up 6 lmb all on jigs.
all were small except one going ~2lbs.
picked up a couple on the western shore tight to structure and the rest in the deepest water i could find on the way back from the dam. didn't fish much on the eastern shore (didn't get any) since 2 other boats had taken passes before me.
threw sluggo's as well with no luck.

What size and color jigs were you throwing? Did you use a trailer? Were you swimming thme back to the boat or twiching them on the bottom? I'm still trying to figure this jig thing out.

1/2 oz spot stalker with black or green twin tail grubs. most of the time they hit it twitching on the bottom but will hit it on the fall. need to watch the line!
it's a patience (and confidence) thing. it took me a good part of a season fishing them for me to make them my bait of choice. i was way big into sluggos and senkos before.
