New Personal Best

Back out on Lake Spofford up in NH, with my favorite first mate who took some very good pictures for rookie, where we are on vacation. Today went out today basically looking for quantity not quality and any fish not just bass as the camp we were staying at was looking for fish to use with a game for the youth at the camp (its teen week). Hit the water at 1:30 and at 2:03 landed the largest bass of my fishing experience a 21" LMB that tipped my scale at 4lb 6oz. My previous best had been a 4#4. It didn't look that light to me. Not sure if the scale is off. It's one of those hand held Rapala scales. When I caught it I thought it was a 5 pounder for sure and the weight length charts say it should be around 5# 10 oz. It sure put up a nice fight making a few runs as it got close to the boat until it just tired. Regardless its an awesome fish for what can be a very stingy lake at times especially when it comes to size. Got it off a new hump I discovered out in front of a now closed alcohol / drug rehab center using my typical black grape zoom finesse worm on a drop shot with 6# test line in about 20' of water. Oh yeah, I wound up with a total of 12 other fish (5 smallies, 7 rock bass) most off a sunken island that isn't on the map. I gave the camp all the smaller fish to use in their game (all of which were being returned to the lake at the end, no worries). Here's a couple of pics. Does it look like 4#6???? Nice fish!! Congrats on the new PB. It's tough to judge weight through pictures but I can tell you that Tim (Fishface) caught a 20.5" bass last week that weighed in at 3lbs 14oz so that weight might not be too far off. Either way it's a great looking fish.

Yeah, according to Bluegill Terminator, I always catch the skinny fish, too. Nice catch!
