Bantam 6-17

Got out on Bantam Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. Hot & sunny. Water temps were 73 to 76 depending on location. Thought the bass would be holding deeper, so tried cranking some drop offs in the 10 to 15 ft range. But no takers. Then tried skipping some plastics around & under docks.. Again, couldn't find any takers. Came up to some pads and on my first cast with a tex rigged Ozmo, I nail a nice 2 lb LM. So I though I had figured it out. But this was a temporary pattern. Motored over to the shallows on the east side marked with the danger buoys. Caught 3 SM on a rattle trap, all cruising the shallows. Best was a 2 lb. fish along side the rock that just breaks the surface. Other 2 off the south end where it drops off fast. Wished I could have been out at first light, but out of state guest for my son's HS graduation party required me to be the obliging host. Still, any time on the water is "quality" time. Pads are really starting to fill in. Time for some frogging. Almost forgot, had a friendly DEP officer pull up and check for fishing license & boating cert. No problem. Good to see them out enforcing the laws.
Tight lines.

I've been tryin frogs in the pads thus far, at similar water temps and am still having no luck w/ em. Getting most of my bites on a houdini shad pulled along the edges of the pads. Picked up three 1-2 pounders tonight. Tried everything else, only the pickeral seem to be nailing topwater right now. odd.
