I lost the biggest fluke of my life today :(

NOt really in the mood to type up a report so i'll let the frances fleets report do the talking. The mate estimated the fish at 10lbs+ Long story short, got the doormat on a HUGE whole squid, had it to the boat, it was halfway in the net before it lifted its head outta the water and chewed my boa rig right in half before swimming away. As lame as this sounds, I really feel like a complete failure right now. A double digit fluke has been my ultimate goal for several years now and I was 3 ft away from achieving that today. Here's the report.... Thursday, June 21st 4:30pm Capt. Ray reported a very enjoyable day of Fluke fishing along the beach. Many of the regular customers were aboard today. Fluke sharpie Pak Yung from Queens took the pool as well as his limit. Regular customer Fred from Niantic had nearly his limit. The biggest fish of the day was caught by 13 year old Taylor Charest of Coventry, Rhode Island with a fine 6plus pound slab. Hi hooks swung upwards to 35 fish each over the rails. A respectable showing of nice size seabass today as well. [b:e9fe9039f0]One angler lost a fish of a lifetime when his leader broke right before the fish could be brought to the net. The big fish had inhaled a whole squid[/b:e9fe9039f0]. This angler can empathize as my biggest fish was lost the same way. Going back this weekend to try again.
