2 in 1 Bantam

I haven't posted in a while so I'll do a 2 for 1. Hit Bantam twice this month, once early and again this Sat. Both times I fished from about 6:30am till noon. Both times were on the tail end of a cold front and it was freezing and windy.
First day I caught a 24"-26" pickeral on a golden shiner which annoyed my because I thought it was a pike. Then I caught the meanest fish in the lake - a 1.5lb largemouth that tried to eat a 10" golden shiner. I don't know what he was thinking as he couldn't possibly have swallowed it. Pickeral was in North cove and largey in South. Both shallow in weeds.
Next time I only got one but it was a small pike (28") around the corner from South cove on the west side way back in the corner. This one was on a white sucker again shallow in weeds.
Both days I was fighting the wind and cold and had a hard time doing what I wanted. On a side note, I saw my first ever river otter on Sat am in South cove. It swam around chirping at me for a while while it was diving for and crunching snails right next to my boat. That was the highlight of both trips. Had some other hits but nothing else landed.
Almost forgot, in North cove in the middle my fishfinder lit up like I have never seen it before. The largest school of fish I have ever marked. I dropped a small jig/grub down and started pulling up big white perch. They were too big to use as bait though, so I threw them back. Nice and easy with good sized ones for those that like to eat them.

Nice report! Just stop calling 28" pike small until I can catch one bigger then that :D Did you find the big pickerel fought harder than a pike of similar size?
