Its STARTED!

Hi All!
Well its STARTED!
The open water season is pretty much over and now the wait for ice to form!
To some its like being a drug addict without a supply!
Already many have that terrible itch and no way of scratching it!
Now would be a good time to get depth charts of the waters you want to fish and plan out where and how to set out your tip-ups or rods.
I usually start the season by putting out my sets from shallow to deep in a straight line from shore. When I see that certain sets seem to be producing, I then shift those that aren't to the left and right of those that are.
Since we're allowed 5 set ups here in Ct. -> I bait 2 with minnows and 2 with waxies/mousies/spikes and reserve the last as a jigging hole.
The fish will tell you what they want and then I adjust my bait accordingly.
The only exception is when I'm on waters that have Pike and I'll go to a 3 - 1and 1 combination -> 3 rigged for Pike -> 1 for Trout/Panfish -> and 1 for jigging.
FYI: The cost of Pike size bait is going to be expensive this season -> So while there is still some open water it would be a good idea to find where you can catch some Goldies/Fall-Fish/Suckers. Small creeks, streams, and back waters are good places to look.
Best regards,

Hey Phil!
I said -> Open water season is pretty much over with -> Not Closed! :D
For most anglers that is true!
There's always the die-hards that will keep going till the ice forces them to quit :!:  :D
Been waiting though to hear if your planning to attach an ice breaking bow to one of your kayaks :!:  :P
Best regards,
