Got the ice season underway today
Message:
I had a few hours to finally get out today, so I took my sled and dog Cain out in search of some safe ice. There is a nice little pond near me in East granby near the airport, it is always one of the first around to freeze. When I got there I was glad to see it was completly frozen over. i went out about 5 feet and popped a hole, 4 inches of good ice. I ended up having a great time playing fetch with the dog and chasing flags. Had about 12 flags and 6 fish in about three hours. They were all lmbs and one calico. The best bass probably went 3.5 lbs but not one was under a pound and a half. The pond is very small probably 3 acres and no more than 12 feet deep. All fish were taken on medium shiners from 12 feet to 6 feet with the bait suspended about 2 feet from the bottom.
