I decided to try it today despite my reservations about wind, walk, and hand drilling. I got there about 10am hoping that the wind would start to die down. It didn't. Drilled 6 holes through 2' of ice and I was all done. That will be the last hand drilled hole I ever make. Stayed till 2pm and all I got was frostbite on my nose. Not even 1 flag. Had tipups set from 4' to 15' of water. Fished right in front of the river inlet. There were 4 guys with like 20 tipups canvasing the whole shore from the river to the back corner and they got nothing while I was there, also. I did talk to a guy who was leaving as I was setting up and he got 2 pike (31" & 34") and a big pickerel w/ a couple perch from the back corner.
