How is the Pike Fishing out there???
Message:
I'm anxious to get out there on the upper housy to do some Pike fishing. Has anyone been out lately? Any good tips? Last year I seemed to have good luck using the Rapala Xrap size 10 & 12. I want to get into using soft baits.

I have fished FW for what i thought was a lot of species from Bluegill to Dolly varden, Cutthroat grayling and on. But [b:c6d5e5c3fe]WHAT IS AN ESOX ?????[/b:c6d5e5c3fe]. and what and where is the upper "housy"?? Sorry but it's just my curiosity.

Wanted a place to include all those toothy family members in one. Upper Hous, as I see it is different than upper hous for the salt guys. We're generally talking anywhere north of Candlewood Lake. Bulls Bridge, Falls Village, Cornwall, Canaan, and on up into mass. North of the falls village dam the river is a very different beast up into southern mass, its very wide and slow with backwaters and marsh that hold some great pike and smallmouth. Further north into Mass, the hous gets very small and a little quicker again. I've personally never fished that far north or even south into candlewood. I've got my little stretches
