Weekend trips 5/21-5/22
Message:
Fished a local set of reservoirs saturday (seymour/oxford) with 5 decent fish ranging from 2-3.5 lbs the biggest coming on a berkely green pumpkin crazy legs chigger craw texas rigged, one on a watermelon red senko, and the rest on a black/blue booyah pigskin 1/2 oz jig with a net bait paca chunk trailer. All fish caught in about 7-10 feet of water with sparse grass on bottom. Sunday took the kayak into black pond in meriden caught two 2 lb fish early ripping a X-calibur lipless cranks thru grass in about 14 feet of water. Overall good weekend with several fished missed on senkos.

Nice!

If you're fishing the Senkos wacky, I suggest that you use a Gamakatsu Number 4 Octopus Circle hook. I've tried many different ones and it's the best by far. I rarely miss a hookset after a largemouth bass picks up the Senko. Most of the 47 largemouth bass that I landed yesterday were hooked in the corner of the mouth. I pulled out my foreceps only twice and didn't seriously injure any of them.

Wasn't fishing them wacky, just rigged weedless. That's a really nice bag of fish decent size? What depth of water you find them in?
