Subject:
Jug Fishing ????? HELP
Message:
Can anybody tell me the rules for jug fishing. Is it allowed in Ct. I know it is allowed in other states.
I would like to know the rules before I go out and toss a couple of lines and then go fish another area of the lake.
Thanks

I asked the DEP the same question. The response I got is in [b:e99b5d5e51]red[/color:e99b5d5e51][/b:e99b5d5e51]:
[quote:e99b5d5e51][I]s "jug fishing" or "jugging" permitted? [b:e99b5d5e51]YES as long as you are out there with it and can retrieve the float promptly. If you are out in a kayak/canoe/boat you could have up to two lines out. An example of something that would not be legal would be to place a float/line out in a water body, and then leave it out there (while you go home, or sit on shore with no means to retrieve the float).[/color:e99b5d5e51][/b:e99b5d5e51] [/quote:e99b5d5e51]
Remember, you can have only two lines out (i.e., in the water) at a time. If you have two jugs out, you can't also use a fishing rod.
